How to get second Network card visble by other servers on E4500?

Hi managers

I have an E4500 with 2 NICs, hme0 and hme1. In order
to spread the load on hme0 and its aliases, I have
plumb hme1 and brought the interface up.

So far so good, I can ping the interface on the
localhost and as expected the interface on hme1 is up.
However, no other servers on the network can see this
interface using either ICMP or UDP (ping).

A bit at a loss, I resorted to add the entry in the
hosts file to no avail. I also tested the
connection/link to our Cisco switch using 3 different
UTP cat5's.

In last attempt, I added a CNAme record in DNS. This
obviously made no difference since I only need to have
the other servers see the IP address.

I believe this may be a route related problem or maybe
this new entry is not in the ARP table on the other
servers.

Any clue will be most welcome.
