Hello,

I have Solaris 7 box currently using DiskSuite 4.2 to handle disk
devices. We want to migrate to Veritas Volume Manager. I decided to
uninstall DiskSuite and install Veritas Volume Manager. The procedure is
break mirror, edit vfstab to point to disk devices, not to meta devices,
clear mirror meta devices. Question is about meta devices with two disks
concatenated. Like this :

d51: Mirror
    Submirror 0: d61
      State: Okay
    Submirror 1: d71
      State: Okay
    Pass: 1
    Read option: roundrobin (default)
    Write option: parallel (default)
    Size: 70722408 blocks

d61: Submirror of d51
    State: Okay
    Size: 70722408 blocks
    Stripe 0: (interlace: 32 blocks)
Device Start Block Dbase State Hot Spare
        c0t2d0s2 0 No Okay
        c0t3d0s2 4712 No Okay

d71: Submirror of d51
    State: Okay
    Size: 70722408 blocks
    Stripe 0: (interlace: 32 blocks)
Device Start Block Dbase State Hot Spare
        c4t0d0s2 0 No Okay
        c4t1d0s2 4712 No Okay

I have c0t2d0s2 and c0t3d0s2 concatenated in one meta devices. How I can
migrate this device to Veritas Volume Manager ? Maybe I can clear
mirror, encapsulate disks and concatenate these in VVM ? I see one
solution to do that - ufsdump file system to another location, destroy
concats and mirror and restore fs on new VVM handled file system, but
maybe there is more fast way to migrate such devices to VVM ?

With best regards,
Martynas Buozis
