Solaris 9 on a Sparcstation 20 - cgfourteen support

I installed Solaris 9 (default end user install) on a sparcstation 20, and
need to know how to get the video abilities working better. Previously, I
was using Linux on the same machine. I use it as my primary workstation here
at work.

I'm using the built-in SX video (cgfourteen) with an 8mb VSIMM.

Right now X is running at 1152x900x8bpp. I need at least to be able to obtain
24bpp, and I believe my monitor (a Sun GDM-20E20) is capable of a higher
resolution - I would like to run it at maximum, which I think is at least
1280x1024.

Based on a little fiddling and search engine results, I tried the following
commands, which error as shown:
bash-2.05$ fbconfig -list
  Device-Filename Specific Config Program
  --------------- -----------------------
  /dev/fbs/cgfourteen0 SUNWcg14_config
bash-2.05$ fbconfig -set 1280x1024
Error: Can not find configuration program.

A google search for SUNWcg14_config yeilds nothing, so I'm at a loss. I'm
very new to Solaris (I've used nothing but Linux for years), so I'm not too
familiar with where to go from here.

I also need to figure out how to set the X11 keymap to dvorak. I don't mind
writing a keymap file if required, but I need to know where it goes and how
to set the configuration to use it. With XFree86, this was in XF86Config.
This setting needs to apply to all users including xdm. Right now I'm using
xmodmap manually each time I log in.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Solaris has been great so far.

"Diagoras the Atheist once visited Samothrace and a friend there said to him,
'You think the gods have no care for humans? Why, you can see from all these
votive pictures here how many people have escaped the fury of storms at sea
by praying to the gods, who have brought them safe to harbour.' 'Yes,
indeed,' said Diagoras, 'but where are the pictures of all those who suffered
shipwreck and perished in the waves?' On another occasion he was on a voyage
and the crew became anxious about the bad weather and began to mutter that it
served them right for taking an atheist on board. Diagoras just pointed out
to them a number of other ships on the same course which were in equal
difficulties and asked them whether they thought that there was a Diagoras on
the passenger-list of every one of them. The fact is that a man's character
or way of life makes no difference at all to his good luck or bad."
