Dear Sun Managers,

I've an E5500 with 5.8 (KJP 108528-10), system
ocassionally hangs with the following error and
I need to do a stop+A to break it.

Aug 16 11:33:13 csa1 genunix: [ID 470503 kern.warning]
WARNING: Sorry, no swap space to grow st
ack for pid 29745 (sendmail)
Aug 16 11:33:13 csa1 sendmail[28438]: [ID 801593
mail.crit] LAA28431: SYSERR(root): mailer prog
died with signal 11
Aug 16 11:33:19 csa1 genunix: [ID 470503 kern.warning]
WARNING: Sorry, no swap space to grow st
ack for pid 29670 (sendmail)

I've tried to increase the swap space but with no
avail.

This server send many email to other host daily. When
I do a mailq, it shows lot of mail is queueing up
and unable to send out. There is error: "Deferred:
Connection refused by mx1pc.xxx.com." as well.
"ps -ef" showing alot of sendmail daemon.

I would like to know what is "mailer prog died with
signal 11" means and why is there no space to grow
stack for pid 29670?

Under what circumstance will there be so many sendmail
daemon? Would appreciate someone out there can
shed a light on this. It is quite disruptive to
STOP+A the system.

TIA.

Regards,
Andrew
