I have an E4500 with 4 CPU and 2 GB of physical
memory.
I wish to set up a place where I can save the
core dump file in case the system panics.
I have a couple of questions:
1. How big can a core dump file can be (worst case?)
Can it be as big as 2 GB?
(this is a loaded Oracle database server)
2. Due to my oversight, my /var partition is now
only less than 120 MB. Can I use other directory
to store core dump files? What Unix command will
configure the location of the core files?
btw, I am running Solaris 2.6 and the swap space
is about 512 MB.
Thanks,
Tony
