Format Repair - Netscape web server backup

Managers,

I have a problem with bad blocks on a hard drive. I know what blocks are
bad, C12d20 or something like that... The errors are on the root partition
and the system will boot in read only mode on the root drive.

I can not run a full backup of the system due to the bad blocks. I have a
fullback up that was made using the Netscape web server backup program, a
program I am unfamiliar with.

So, I have four questions:
1. Since I can not log into the system from the CDE , and can not log into
the Netscape administrator to see what backup routine it uses (You can only
connect to port 82 from the server itself apparently) does anyone know what
backup Netscape web server uses?

2. If I use Format - Repair - Block can I harm the system any more than it
already has been? This is not a system I normally work with so I am VERY
HESITANT to work on this without a good backup.

3. Are there any tricks to booting a file system that is READ ONLY as Read
Write?

4. Is there a good way to map a file to the block it is associated with?

Thanks, and best regards

-Brett Edstene
