Postscript Printing Problems

Hi everyone,

I hope this is an appropriate question for this site and if not please
accept my apologies and ignore it.

I am having a printing problem which effects postscript files printed from
my solaris 7 network only. This same printer (HP LaserJet 5Si (Unsupported
by HP)) is also used my our NT network and works fine for them. The problem
is that whenever a postscript file is sent to the printer it is printed on
A3 paper regardless of the paper size selected by the user in his
application (ie nenscript, netscape, apex_pretty_print etc). The problem
did go away a few weeks ago and Postscript files were printed to A4 (and I
don't know why) but it has now reappeared and we are going thru A3 paper at
a rapid rate.

I have a Sparc 5 (solaris 7) print server running HP's "HP Web Jet Admin"
and "HP Web Package Manager" (Unsupported by HP ) ??. But even when I turn
them off the problem persists. Each printer in our network has a Jet Direct
card and none of the other printers has this problem. I assume therefore
that the problem is within my solaris set-up but I just don't know where.

My question is ...

Has anyone ever heard of a similar problem and if so please point me in the
direction of the fix or alternatively which files would you suggest I should
be checking for configuration issues or driver versions etc? (There seem
to be literally dozens and dozens of printer related files on our network
and I don't know which ones are important or relevant and what lines I
should check.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
