Opening Large File

Hi gurus

We are having Solaris 8 on E450 and Oracle apps 11i .
when i am tryying to open log file it is giving following error.

$ vi ORAPRCalert.log

error : tmp file too large

what could be the reason for this . Size of the file is 183 MB .
how can i resolv this error . how i can open this file .
Is there anyway for rotating this log .
