Hello.
I'd read "Reducing application Startup Time" (from soldc.sun.com)
and "Application Performance Optimization" (from www.sun.com/blueprints)
because I found interesting to reduce startup time in Netscape
Communicator 4.78 in a Solaris 8 with a lot of X sessions...
From first one I tried crle command to reduce relocations using
PIC but I couldn't make a successful Netscape binary from original.
In theory created binary would contain its dependencies and
relocations applied to it, but I don't know if that means
an important change in delay's startup. BTW i don't know if
it's possible to use crle with a not compiled binary under Sol 8.
Blueprint talks about using special parameters during compilation
but I think there is no Netscape code in their website and mozilla
runs good but takes even more time to launch than the other...
Has someone found a solution about that?
Thank you in advance for your help.
