Hi Gurus, I am at a dead end and hope someone must be having some
solution for me. We are running BMC patrol console version 3.4.11 on
Solaris 2.7 box. We are trying to add extra hosts into console view and
are unable to add extra hosts after a limit (which is 256). After
speaking with BMC, we have find out that console process is using "low
end file descriptors" to do a hostname to IP resolution (when you add a
host into the view). And all those FDs remain open till the view is in
use. Now we are not able to add any extra hosts, since we have run out of
"low end FDs". There is no solution yet from Sun for this, and neither is
BMC having one. Using DNS is not in picture. Has anyone encountered this
problem?? or has any suggestions. TIA and will summarize. -Raj
