JDBC Connectivity to Oracle DB on Solaris 8

We've this weird problem... a remote workstation connecting via JDBC to a
Solaris box running Oracle in MTS mode. The workstation's JDBC connection
hits the server (as proven by the listener logs) but nothing is returned to
the workstation. The JDBC connection basically just connects to the DB,
executes a package and returns extracted data. On non-Solaris MTS DB
systems, the same exact query over JDBC works. Any issues / points that
anyone can share regarding JDBC and Solaris Oracle MTS environments?
