Dear Sun Managers,

I've an E1000 with Solaris 8 (KJP 108528-14). After
installed the lastest recommended patches, I'm getting
lot of the following errors messages.

May 21 14:38:25 horse sendmail[26871]: [ID 801593
mail.crit] g4L6NOf24152: SYSERR(root): dbm map
Alias0":
unsafe map file /etc/mail/aliases
May 21 14:53:24 horse sendmail[29274]: [ID 801593
mail.crit] g4L6NOf24152: SYSERR(root): dbm map
"Alias0": unsafe map file /etc/mail/aliases
May 21 14:55:06 horse sendmail[29634]: [ID 801593
mail.crit] g4L6t6e29634: SYSERR(ora816): dbm map
"Alias0": unsafe map file /etc/mail/aliases

Checking thru sunsolve and found one related document
pertaining to this error and I perform the following
steps.

1. Run this script to check for unsafe directory
   permission.

   # /usr/lib/mail/sh/check-permissions

2. Ensure /etc directory permission is set to 755.

3. Ensure /etc/mail permission is set to 755.

4. Ensure /etc/mail/aliases is set to 644.

However, the problem persists. Would highly appreciate
someone out there can shed a light on this. It is
urgent.

TIA.

Regards,
Andrew
