HBA for SUN StorEdge D1000

Dear sunmanagers,

I got an old StorEdge D1000 which I would like to connect
to my (also) old Enterprise 220R.
The only HBA i currently have is a new X4422A. I tried to
connect the D1000 to the X4422A and fail...

In openboot-prom when running "probe-scsi-all" I can see that
the controler is probed but it doesn't find any disk in the
D1000...

So... where's the problem??
