This has yet to be resolved. Sun has the case open since March 10.
The error message during the install from the cd version 11/06.

Default install is not possible. Default boot disk could not be
determined.

The system runs rather well on the default boot device.

Does anyone know where this message is generated.
Sun has not been able to find the cause

<snip>

Our E4500 is currently running solaris 9.
We want to do an upgrade to solaris 10.
During the install we are not given the option to upgrade.

What is necessary on a running system so that one can do an upgrade from
9 to 10 ?
