Hi,
A search at http://www.sunmanagers.org/archives.html
did not quite give a sample hardening script.
I'm looking for a freeware script that can be run & prompt
us before hardening each of the item it's going to harden
(& we just answer y or n before hardening each item)
Some functions it performs include disabling ftp/telnet/sendmail
/syslog servers, chmod/chown/umask files/directories, disable
modem ports ttya/ttyb, set password policies & suid/sticky bits.
Will be ideal if the script take a backup copy (cp -p) of the
relevant config files (inetd.conf etc) before making the change
so that it can be reversed back easily.
Apologies if this is not relevant as I can't seem to access
Sunmanager archives at
(http://www.latech.edu/sunman.html)
&
ftp://ftp.cs.toronto.edu/pub/jdd/sunmanagers/faq/
Tks
U
