Printing postscript files from command-line

What I want to do is setup a printer on my Solaris 9 box that will print a postscript file from the command-line. After some poking around, it sounds like I need to setup the printer to use a filter in combination with Ghostscript. I found /etc/lp/fd/postprint.fd which appearsto be a postscript filter file that I need to tie to the printer? Also, I do have Ghostscript installed on the Solaris box. I don't have CUPS installed as it will not work with some of our super old serially connected printers. I would greatly appreciate it if someone would lead me through setting this up to work.

Thanks for any help,
Shannon
