Installing Solaris 10 into an external storage

Hi All,

I have tried installing Solaris 10 on an external storage with some
problems.

After I checked probe-scsi-all in the OBP and confirmed the path name. I
proceeded on to check the controller name (e.g. cxtxdx). I confirmed
that it was c2t0d0 and proceeded on to install the OS into c2t0d0.

But when I booted it up, it showed that it was booting up from the
internal HDD instead of the external storage.

I tried the same steps in confirming the controller name (now it was
c1t0d0) and then installing the OS on it. It was still booting from the
internal HDD.

Can anyone explain to me why would the controller number change when I
specifically selected the external storage?
