V880 unable to shutdown

Dear Sun Managers,

I've a newly installed V880 machine running Solaris 9.
On this machine, there is no graphic card
and I connect a serial console to it.

I've a very strange problem. When I issue init 0,
system is not able to shutdown properly and ok prompt
did not come out. However, from the /var/adm/messages,
it shows file system sync is done.

By running the init 6, it does not reboot the system
as well. The system went down but did not come up
to.

Would highly appreciate if anyone out there can shed
a light on this. What would be the problem? Is this
a bug on Solaris 9? BTW, is Solaris 9 offically
release
already and any recommended patches available?

TIA for your reply.

Regards,
Tim
