How to move from software mirrors to hardware - T2000

It was originally decided to default to software mirrors on some
T2000's. Now they've changed their minds and want hardware mirroring.
Documentation says I need to start from scratch but I've already got
valid data on the servers. Yes, I can recover from backup but it's
going to take forever. Most of the data is on the SAN but it's on zfs.

Is it possible to do something like copy everything to the SAN,
jumpstart the OS to the hardware mirror, remount the SAN zfs partitions,
then copy everything back without corrupting the boot sectors, the zfs
data or having legacy svm stuff causing confusion?
