connecting remote desktops

Hi all,

we have the following scenario:

headquartes (2MBit leased line, pupblic IP-Addresses) <--- internet
---> branch office (ADSL)

We have SRS running in the branch office and can give the SRS server a
public ipaddress. In the branch office we would like to have 4 Sun Rays
and a network printer. There we have only the ADSL-router (dynamically
assigned ID, NAT). What's the easiest approach to get both locations
connected?

1) Since the new Sun Rays are told to be ready for remote use, we gave
this a try. We could reach the SRS in headquartes office over the
internet by giving the Sun Ray a public ipaddress (popup GUI). However,
it stops working as soon as we put teh Sun Ray behind the ADSL-router.
It stops at the OSD with 26D. :-(

2) We considered installing a very small box (e.g. Netra X1, we have a
few around here) in the branch office and then use OpenVPN to connect
both networks over the internet. However, trying to build openvpn 2.0.9
on the Netra X1 (Solaris 10) failed with

then mv -f ".deps/tun.Tpo" ".deps/tun.Po"; else rm -f ".deps/tun.Tpo";
exit 1; fi
tun.c:1183:2: #error I need the symbol TUNNEWPPA from net/if_tun.h
tun.c: In function `open_tun':
tun.c:1245: error: `TUNNEWPPA' undeclared (first use in this function)
tun.c:1245: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
tun.c:1245: error: for each function it appears in.)
make[1]: *** [tun.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/share/src/openvpn-2.0.9'

Any idea?

3) We could install a Cisco-Router in the headquarter and use the Cisco
Easy VPN support for the new Sun Ray. Which router would be suitable
for us (cost-effective-wise)? Another thought is that we also need a
network printer in the branch office that should be reachable by the
application that is actually running on the SRS server in the
headquarters office. So it might be a good idea to have a small cisco
router in the branch office as well and build a real vpn. Is there a
cookbook somewhere? Which routers actually work (suitable for this
scenario) and how to set things up?

Hints are greatly appreciated?

Thanks,

   Andreas
