Dear All,

I need your help in finding a way to use a DAT72 tape drive connected to one
server in saving backups for other servers; please note all the servers are
all located in the same network.

I know that I can use the following option:

/usr/sbin/ufsdumb 0cf /tmp $PRTNAME | rsh $SYS dd of=/dev/rmt/0

$PRTNAME is the partition I need to dumb.
$SYS with the machine name with the tape drive.

but in this case I have to find a space for the dumb file then save it to
the tape.

What I'm looking for is a method to share the tape drive and be able to
write to it directly; or any other way to write on the tape drive directly.

Please help and advice.
Regards,
Moz.
