Hi All,
Got to change the name of a number of servers running Veritas VM, VCS,
Oracle and other apps. As far as I can discern there are two schools of
thought. One says just edit the following files:
/etc/hosts
/etc/inet/hosts
/etc/net/ticlts/hosts
/etc/net/ticots/hosts
/etc/net/ticotsord/hosts
/etc/hostname.*
plus whatever app specific there are eg tnsnames.ora etc
The other indicates a full sysunconfig is required to ensure success. Anyone
been there, done and got the t-shirt?
We are looking primarily are a mix of V880s and SF6800s running Solaris 8.
