 Hallo Gurus,

We have a Sun Ultra Enterprise 450 server running Solaris 8. One of the CPU fans keeps failing, and so the OS shuts down. I put the Environmental Monitor on 'advise' to see if the system would stop shutting down, but this did not work. I then disabled the monitor, but still the OS shuts down!

The Server is scheduled for decommissioning soon, so we don't want to order a new fan. The data centre environment is adequately cooled, and the other 6 fans on the server are working ok.

Is there a way we can make the OS / system ignore the failed fan and work normally?
