NFS between Solaris and Mac OS X Server

Has anyone tried mounting UFS volumes from Mac OS X Server to a
Solaris client. We are trying to do this and are having no end of
difficulty. The OS X Server reboots spontaneously under heavy load and
there does not seem to be a journalling or logging option for UFS
filesystems which leads to two hour fsck sessions.

The OS X Server is running Tiger (10.4.11) and the clients are running
Solaris 8. Apple has been attempting to help but the OS X Server has
mysteriously stopped generating crash reports which makes things
difficult.

I guess we should install all the NFS patches we can find.
