Hi Gurus
I have a few questions if I may with regards to LSI hardware mirroring
on the SunFire x4100/x4600 etc.
1) When you create a mirror from the LSI BIOS utility, where does the
information about the array get stored? Does it all get stored on the
disk? or is there some info on the mirror stored in the LSI somewhere as
well ?
2) What is it that actually gets stored?, is it a consistency database
or something like that ? Id really like to understand what it is that
gets stored and how much space it uses up along with where on the disk
it resides (at the end or at the beginning etc)
3) I've noticed that a disk that was previously part of a mirror on
another machine causes all sorts of issues when put into a new machine
as the mirroring information is still on there. Is there an easy way of
removing ALL mirroring information on this disk so that it is as clean
as a brand new disk ?
I am struggling to find good informative resources on the net regarding
this subject, but if anyone knows of some good links then that would be
great
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated
