Just installed a 6140... the device names look
like: /dev/dsk/c6t600A0B800032D1CE0000040F4739D162d0s0.
My thinking was: "This is just a symbolic link. Why not create my own
symbolic link?"
So I did. I found the slice reference in the /dev/dsk and /dev/rdsk
folder and created new, easier to remember, symbolic links. [see details
below]
Q: Does anyone see a problem with this?
Q: Has anyone done this?
[root@ods2 dsk]# ls -l c6t600A0B800032D1CE0000040F4739D162d0s0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 63 Nov 14 08:16

-> ../../devices/scsi_vhci/ssd@g600a0b800032d1ce0000040f4739d162:a
[root@ods2 dsk]# ln
