Any fancy zfs tricks to mount a clone of a volume?

Okay, here's my situation:

I have zfs file systems on netapp luns. I'd like to clone the lun on the
netapp end, then mount the clone to the same host.

Of course, the problem is that the lun is still identified by its zpool
name when it's cloned. Cloning a lun and presenting it to the same host
makes it show up all groovy in format, but zpool import doesn't see
anything to import.

I can export the zpool, and then import the clone. Is that my only way
to do it? I'd rather not unmount the filesystem that I'm cloning.
