NFS Issues with Solaris 8

Hi

we have a strange issue where one of our Solaris 8 hosts which is NFS
mounting a filesystem from another Solaris 8 host seems to decide to
use NFS v2 which means that any >2GB files on the share become
unusable on the client.

Unmounting and remounting the share seems to kick it back into V3 mode
where 2+GB files are ok.

Both the NFS server and the client are Solaris 8 ( latest hardware
release + fairly recent recommended ) , installed with SUNWreq + a few
additional packages and the NFS share is being mounted by the
automounter on the client ( via /net - yes I know )

haven't managed to find much on web - anybody else seen anything similar?

thanks

tim
