Couple of questions here, but first some background. Currently we are
using an EMC Celera file server with Solaris 8 clients. We are in the process
of implementing FrontPage extensions, but running into some Microsoft imposed
limitations. One of Microsoft's solutions was to create over 120,000 symbolic
links in one directory...that's just not my choice....so here are my
questions.
1) what is the maximum number of directory entries in a file system
2) what is the maximum number of files allowed per directory/file system
3) what is the maximum number of seemliness per directory/file system
4) what happens to performance as you reach those numbers.
