MxPIO with Sun StorageTek 6140

Is anyone using a Sun 6140 array with MxPIO to a Solaris host ?

I'm using a 6140, dual controllers to a Sun X4100M2 running Solaris
10u3, via 2 Brocade SW4100 switches (one for each channel). I'm just
using the multipathing included in Solaris 10 (/kernel/drv/fp.conf has
"mxpio-disable="no") which has worked a champ up until now.

The 6140 can see both HBA ports on the X4100, I have created a zone on
each switch for them an everything so far seems fine. But...

The problem I'm having is that according to luxadm, I have two paths to
the array (one to each controller) but a volume only appears as being
accessible over FC by one array controller. Therefore, a "luxadm probe"
displays one path as ONLINE and the other as STANDBY. Our older 3510
array appears to let both controllers "see" the volume, so both paths
show up as ONLINE which means that any failure in that path (cable,
switch, controller etc.) does not bring the volume down, but it does on
our 6140.

What I want to do is get the same thing working with our 6140 - that is,
to have a volume accessible via both controllers so in the event of a
channel failure the volume still remains accessible on the host without
any manual intervention. I'm sure this must be possible, but I'm just
probably doing something really dumb - the docs say "Within the array,
storage pools use multipathing by default. To complete the data path,
data hosts also need the ability to multipath." and "when multipathing
is used in round-robin mode, multiple HBAs are grouped together, and the
multipathing software identifies the group of HBAs as a single
initiator.". So it looks like it Should Just Work(tm) but it isn't for
me, at any rate.

I'm using the Common Array Manager software to manage the array, if that
helps...

Thanks in advance for any advice, pointers etc. and I will of course
summarize.

Thanks,

-Mark
