Hello,
I've just installed a server with Solaris 10 08/07. I'm using DHCP to
configure the network interface. My problem is that the configuration
doesn't seem to complete, and the default route doesn't get set. I have:
$ ifconfig nge0 dhcp status
Interface State Sent Recv Declined Flags
nge0 PRE_BOUND 5 4 0 [PRIMARY]
If I manually do:
# ifconfig nge0 dhcp release
# ifconfig nge0 dhcp
then it goes to bound and I have a default route. But after a reboot,
somehow, it doesn't bind.
For reference, on another server using DHCP, I have:
$ ifconfig bge0 dhcp status
Interface State Sent Recv Declined Flags
bge0 BOUND 1 1 0 [PRIMARY]
(Began, Expires, Renew) = (09/12/2007 13:13, 09/13/2007 13:13,
09/13/2007 01:03)
Does anyone on the list have encountered this or have any idea what's
the problem ? This is a brand new install of Solaris. Note that before
the server was running Solaris 10 11/06 and it was working fine so I
doubt it's a hardware issue.
