Solaris 8 patch problem.

Hello,

I was recently having some troubles getting an application to run on a
Solaris 8 box. Having seen this before, I opted to apply every patch
that Sun suggested via the PatchCheck scripts available from sunsolve.
After applying the patches that seemed would be relevant (which was most
of them), the system failed to restart. Getting a console active, I
found I couldn't log in, as the pam modules were no longer found.
Single user mode showed me that the c libs were corrupted as well, which
makes pretty much every command fails, since most are dynamically
linked. These are the only 2 things I can find that are wrong, but
there may be more, and I'm not able to find out yet. I should note that
since the pam modules aren't found, I can't log in to multiuser mode.
And since the c libs are corrupted, I can't patchrm from single user
mode.

Any suggestions? I want to fix the problem if possible, rather than
reinstall as there is a couple of days worth of work on this system that
hasn't been backed up yet.

Thanks.
