critical problem

Hi

I came across where I cannot create files on the /var. I tried deleting
some unnecessary files and created almost 600 space, but still I cannot
create any files under /var, cause I hope there is a inode shortage cause
# df -oi /var gives 100% used up and ifree is 30. Actually /var is
mounted on /dev/md/dsk/d4 and this metadevice is built on the slice 4 of
two internal disks mirrored using SVM. The internal disks are 36G each
and have been partitioned to 8 slices with 34G in total and most of the
slices have been used to create metadevices using SVM. This is the
production server.

1. c1t1d0 <SUN36G cyl 24620 alt 2 hd 27 sec 107>
/pci@1c,600000/scsi@2/sd@1,0

Is there any way to increase the inodes in this /var file system since
there is almost 600 of free space available now or do I need to increase
the size of the partition and
grow the file system. What would be the appropriate solution. If
increasing the size to the partition and grow file system is the option
then I need to implement it in the production server and how would
I achieve that where I dont have any slices left on these two internal
disks even though 2GB of space have not been allocated to any slices. Any
kind of tips would help me a lot and thank you for your precious time.

The error I get when I try to create a file under /var is: cannot create
file.......not enough space in the device.

Thank you
