su generates "Segmentation Fault"

I recently began seeing an issue with "su" on a Solaris 10 machine:

-bash-3.00$ su
Segmentation Fault

When I try to run truss on su, I get this:

-bash-3.00$ truss su
truss: cannot trace set-id or unreadable object file: /bin/su

In searching, I came up with a couple of posts where the poster saw a similar
(though not exactly the same) issue as I am seeing:

http://www.sunmanagers.org/pipermail/summaries/2001-November/000227.html

But the resolutions don't work for me.

Here is the uname -a output for the box:

-bash-3.00$ uname -a
SunOS redfish 5.10 Generic_118833-24 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-280R

Anyone have any ideas as to what is happening here?

Thanks for your help!
