Hi,
I have 2 Sun Ultra 10 serves and i have added a KVM to manage them
together with a Sun Fire V880 and a Sun Fire V250. The former ones use
traditional Sun Keyboard and mouse (PS2-alike) and the later ones use
usb Sun keyboard and mouse.
I had previously a KVM wich admited the old style Sun Keyboard and
mouse (PS2-alike) and everything worked nicely. I have adquired
recently a brand new KVM to which i plug the usb Sun keyboard and
mouse. To my surprise (or not so much as surprise :P) the two Ultra 10
servers won't recognize the keyboard... In both servers i have solaris
2.5 (yeah, i know a bit old, but everything works like a charm,
then... why should i change it? :) )... should i patch the solairs 2.5
in order to have it working with the usb keyboard and mouse? shold the
kvm be hiding the usb thing and show it all to the ultra 10 servers as
it there really was an old-style sun keyboard? any hints on how to
make it work?
The cable connecting the kvm and the ultra 10 is supposed to be a
sun-ready cable, with 13W3 video connector and sun keyboard connector.
(just an added silly question... or a cuiosity, i may say... is the
sun keybord in the old style compatible with PS/2?)
