Interrupt Level 4 not serviced

Hi all

We had this error come up on a few v210/v240 boxes running Solaris 10
(Generic_118833-17) a while back and It is now starting to happen on
more and more boxes and id really like to get to the bottom of it

"[ID 257829 kern.warning] WARNING: interrupt 0xNNN at level 4 not
serviced"

I have seen workarounds on this list that supposedly reduce the
frequency of the messages by adding this line to /etc/services

                set esp:esp_use_poll_loop=0

But this, I understand is purely to reduce the frequency of the messages

Does anybody know what may be causing this issue in the first place? And
how I can permanently resolve it ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Gary
