SMC login failures

Hi Everyone,

I'm running a fully patched Solaris 10 11/06 box and
seem to have run into a bug relating to the Solaris
Management Console and a crypt method other than
default.

What I did was change the crypt method in
/etc/security/policy.conf and then change my password
to take advantage of the new crypt method. After that
I can no longer authenticate in SMC.

By manually modifying the password in the shadow file
and putting in encrypted value of the same password
from an older Solaris 9 box, things work fine.

I found document # 88919 relating to bug 4760846 which
was patched on Solaris 9 with 112945-39 but I seem to
have hit this in Solaris 10.

I've opened a case with Sun already but I'm wondering
if any of you have run into this and if so, have you
gotten any help with a fix for this?

Josh
