Serialized coding. Need performance help.

Guru's,

We are currently running into a performance problem due to the code
being single threaded. We are currently trying to run Siebel 8 with our
own code on a new solaris v490 server. The problem is not the siebel
code but our own code. The code that we are trying to run is e-script.
Our environment now is running this on windows servers. We had decided
when upgrading to move to a unix platform. However, now we are doing
testing and have realized due to the extremely serialized process this
is extremely slower on a unix box than a windows box. However, I have a
hard time believing it. I realize that a windows/intel box has a higher
cpu cycle however, these numbers aren't even close. What takes 4
seconds on a windows box takes 12 on a unix. I am wondering what I can
do to try to improve this performance issue due to the single threaded
code? Is there something that I can use with resource management in
solaris 10 to help? If there is I couldn't find it. I have tried with
some success running the process on a different time scheduler. I have
had the best results with the FSS. I just cannot seem to find anything
that will seems to help with the nature of our problem. If anyone can
think of anything I can try please let me know.

Thank You,

Jason Polachak
