Ultra 10 Solaris 7 Disk Issue

Hi all,

I have a pair of Ultra 10s running Solaris 7 which have been
displaying a message in the logs during boot time. The messages look
like:

Jul 12 21:39:12 hostname unix: WARNING: /pci@1f,0/pci@1/scsi@3/sd@1,0 (sd1):
Jul 12 21:39:12 hostname Error for Command: read(10) Error
Level: Retryable
Jul 12 21:39:12 hostname unix: Requested Block: 51613216 Error
Block: 51613216
Jul 12 21:39:12 hostname unix: Vendor: SEAGATE Serial
Number: 3FD13KGG
Jul 12 21:39:12 hostname unix: Sense Key: Unit Attention
Jul 12 21:39:12 hostname unix: ASC: 0x29 (<vendor unique code 0x29),
ASCQ: 0x1, FRU: 0x2

As I said, this message only appears during boot time and otherwise
the machines seem to run fine. The messages are intermittent (not
every boot), with the frequency varying between the two machines. I
have tried running the disk analysis feature of format, which did not
report any issues with the disks. Due to the nature of the
environment, I am not able to swap out the SCSI card to determine if
that is the cause of this message. The disks are model # ST336706LC
and ST336704LCV.

Any help determining the cause of this message and a workaround would
be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt
