Hi,
I have an x4100 with two non-global zones.
I want a simple config to restrict the amout of CPU shares allocated to each
zone using FSS.
>From what I have seen I do not need to use resource pools to do this, but
can just do this:
- set the system default scheduler to FSS
- configure zone.cpu-shares for the non global zones, using zonecfg
- allocate CPU shares for the global zone with "prctl -n zone.cpu-shares -v
10 -r -i zone global" (setting permanently with an SMF script)
I have tested this and it seems to work OK.
Am I missing out on anything by not usng resource pools?
Thanks & regards,
Mike.
