free memory + filesystem cache usage

Quick question on "best" way to get a breakdown of memory
utilization...not just prstat -c size

Rather this is more of a sizing request. In past, I've used pmap -x
<pid> on a box & wrote a perl script to parse thru and group the
utilization and also give consideration to the shared mem column. It
wasn't real complex but it grouped a bunch of info & then req'd a bit of
manual calculating.

Its been a little while, I believe this was in the 2.6/7 timeframe.

Now, I have this need & I see that pmap -x doesn't even have a shared
column output.

Can anyone suggest best cmd to use for this or refer me another
resource/tool, no budget for any commercial tool yet...TQ is in budget
for next year.

Also, in past it was difficult to judge the actual free memory available
on a box due to the fact that file system cache took advantage of a
large % of any free memory (at least this is what I was told) Is there
a way to see the size of file system cache?

And is the following top output accurate?

Memory: 32G real, 2753M free, 36G swap in use, 21G swap free

Ultimately this box is a tuxedo application server & we're trying to
determine if we can add another prod environment to this server without
adding more memory.

Any inputs or pointers are greatly appreciated.
