Simple x4100 questions

Hi, I'm sure these are really simple questions to answer but I'm not quite
sure how to do this

1) How do I boot these x86 boxes off the network into single user mode?, with
sparc, I normally create a jumpstart profile, but rather than issuing a "boot
net - install" I issue a " boot net -s" specifically instructing it to go to
single user rather than install anything....Currently with our x86 boxes, we
just press f12 and that will prepare the system to be jumpstarted....ie
rebuilt......how do I get it to just boot into single user and not install
anything

2) is there an equivalent of the OBP 'banner' command that I can issue from
ILOM to get the box's MAC address

Any help on these would be greatly appreciated

Cheers
Gary
