hba and attached device management

Is there a mechanism in Solaris 10 to manage hba adapters and attached
devices such that changes to switch zoning is not disruptive to service?
We have found (the hard way) that when we change FC switch zoning
that the attached solaris 10 host changes the hba in an "failed" state.
This is before any disk is formated or mounted. Without this
ability we are forced to reboot when changes are needed in the disk
config. Perhaps some combination of luxadm and cfgadm flags will get
the job done. Thanks.
