Logchecking utility advise needed

Hello All,

I have a central Solaris syslog server that collects all the syslog
messages from various servers, however I use it mainly to investigate
the root cause of a system problem or crash after it happened. I'd like
to take a more pro-active approach and check the logs periodically for
unusual events. I tested logchecker 1.1.1 on my other central syslog
server and it works nicely as long as the volume of logs is small. The
logs on my server are massive and the script/grep based solution such as
logcheck is simply to slow and doesn't give me enough flexibility to
filter hosts and events.
I'm looking for something that is relatively easy to install and
configure and can generate a report delivered either by mail or
presented on the web. Could some of you fellow admins recommend a
solution? It can be open source or commercial, however the budget is
fairly small < US $3000.

Thanks in advance.
