Hello All,
I'm new to Solaris systems management, however, I am all that new to
*nix management.... but this problem is perplexing me.
I am logged into a Sun Enterprise 450 Server console as root.
I have a user 'test' that I need to change the password for... so I do
the following
Last login: Thu Apr 19 15:42:16 2007 from x.x.x.x
Sun Microsystems Inc. SunOS 5.8 Generic February 2000
:[/] # passwd acheng
Password:
passwd: Sorry, wrong passwd
Permission denied
:[/] #
When prompted for the password, I am entering the 'root' user password
but, as you can see, 'wrong password'.... I'm logged in as root, so it
shouldn't even prompt me.
I'm thinking this may be a PAM configuration thing?
Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm new to this box/company and this
one is stumping me
Thanks,
Jeff
