I got many replies to look at AIDE, I have, it seems its too big and
requires too many other libraries that MAY cause issues with other layered
products. I was thinking of a product that will md5 interesting files,
keep the number in a DB and if there is any change send mail. Easy stuff,
little perl script.

tripwire like tool
Greetings,
A small system that I have to reorganize, has been using a very
old (not working any more) public domain version of tripwire, this tool
is now commercial and I do not have budget to buy it, so is there
something public domain that it can provide the same functionality.
