USB Disk Sol10-Sparc Failure

I'm trying to set up an external USB enclosure with an IDE hard drive
that's connected to a USB port on a SunBlade 1000 running Solaris 10 11/06.

When I try to use rmformat to configure and format the drive, all
I can get is:
# /> rmformat -b "Sol_10" -s /usb080.dat /dev/rdsk/c5t0d0s2
No media in specified device

Here's the various things I've done to see the drive status:
------------------------------------------------------------

rmformat shows:
---------------

# /> rmformat
 ...
     2. Logical Node: /dev/rdsk/c5t0d0s2
        Physical Node: /pci@8,700000/usb@5,3/storage@2/disk@0,0
        Connected Device: 2.35
        Device Type: <Unknown>

cfgadm shows:
-------------
# /> cfgadm
 ...
usb0/2 usb-storage connected configured ok
 ...

# /> cfgadm -v usb0/2
Ap_Id Receptacle Occupant Condition Information
When Type Busy Phys_Id
usb0/2 connected configured ok Mfg: Product: NConfigs: 1 Config: 0 <no cfg str descr>
unavailable usb-storage n /devices/pci@8,700000/usb@5,3:2

Looking at /dev/dsk - it's there:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 55 Apr 6 09:19 c5t0d0s0 -> ../../devices/pci@8,700000/usb@5,3/storage@2/disk@0,0:a

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 55 Apr 6 09:19 c5t0d0s5 -> ../../devices/pci@8,700000/usb@5,3/storage@2/disk@0,0:f
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 55 Apr 6 09:19 c5t0d0s6 -> ../../devices/pci@8,700000/usb@5,3/storage@2/disk@0,0:g
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 55 Apr 6 09:19 c5t0d0s7 -> ../../devices/pci@8,700000/usb@5,3/storage@2/disk@0,0:h

Using rmformat I get:
---------------------
# /> rmformat -b "Sol_10" -s /usb080.dat /dev/rdsk/c5t0d0s2
No media in specified device

Can someone please tell me what's wrong? Is the IDE controller in the
external enclosure un supported?

I'll summarize the responses.
Thanks.
