Hi All,

After applying several patch on Sun OS 10 6/06 system failure re-sync
up the broke mirror got corrupted my /var filesystem pkg db located at
/var/sadm/pkg

when i type pkginfo -l and pkginfo following error, due to that i
can't add or remove any sun packages which use pkg* commands,

# pkginfo -l
pkginfo: ERROR: bad entry read in contents file
    pathname: Unknown
    problem: unknown ftype

#pkginfo
ALE SUNWcacx Simplified Chinese
AccessX client program
ALE SUNWcadis Simplified Chinese install software
ALE SUNWcadma Simplified Chinese System
administration applications
pkginfo: ERROR: pkginfo file is corrupt or missing

is it possible to rebuild the DB ? I don't have a backup of the /var
currently ..

Thanks,
Chanka Perera
