dear managers

i know it might be a historical question...but
i have sun solaris 8 running on sun blade 10 sparc

and the SIMS 2.0 works on it
now i'm thinking to migrate the server from ipop3 (SIMS) to another server
like courier pop3 on maildir for example

i was able to develope a script to change the same situation for qpopper on
the data levels.
but the problem i don't wanna users to download previously downloaded
messages and i guess that could be managed by definning or (through the pop3
command uidl) which syncronized with user client

the problem now that i don't know the mechanizem of converting the SIMS uidl
format to let's say qpopper
as in SIMS it look like on file

X-UID: 0000000001
and on the client it should be .... (some hex)00000001

whereas on qpopper for example
on both file client something like X-UIDL:!@\!!4&*/"

so..what is the mechinsm of the UIDL of SIMS 2.0
it would be nice even if someone send me a links to read if that format is
standard

thanks
mostafa
