Thanks for over 40 responses received so far. Almost every response was
against making certification required and almost every respondent was
not certified him/herself. I have already talked to my boss and we
agreed to craft the job description to include the expertise we need
rather than certification.
Many suggest the interview process is the place to see who has the
skills, not the resume with attached certs.
One thing I learned is Sys Admins love to talk about how they got into
that profession and most had no idea they were ever going into
Administration until they were already there.
